A hack for hanging artworks in a grid

Hanging artworks in a perfect grid can be tricky. But I have a little hack that makes the job quick and easy.

I developed this strip-template-method after having a nightmare of a time hanging a grid of works at a past exhibition. This process seems so simple, and it is, but I lived through many picture hanging headaches before I got here. So, I hope this little hack helps to save you from hanging nightmares and gives you perfect frame grids every time.

Catch the video below and let me know if you use this hack yourself.

Please note, in this video I am using Command picture hanging strips to hang these artworks. In my experience these strips are good for short term hanging only (exhibitions etc.) and I don’t recommend them for long term use as they have been known to fail. I standard hanging hook that is nailed into the wall is a much more reliable long term hanging solution but will require a few more measurements to get the hole in the right place.

Happy hanging!
