Craft Award exhibition 2014

Amazonian Water Lily (2014) embroidery thread and pins on paper, 69 x 69cm (web image).jpg

Last month I entered my 'Amazonian Water Lily' in the inaugural Emerging Artist - Craft Award at Craft NSW. I don't usually like to enter my work in competitions but I figured I would throw my hat in the ring with this one because I have always been a big fan of Craft NSW and love visiting their gorgeous showroom in the Rocks.

From over 150+ entries 30 artists were shortlisted for the award.

I am delighted to announce that I was awarded the 'Emerging Artist - craft minor award.

It is so wonderful to be recognised for my work, especially by such high profile judges (The publishers of Craft Arts International magazine; Ken Lockwood and Jenie Thomas).

As a result of the award I will be exhibiting my work at Craft NSW for six months starting January 2015. So if you are in Sydney between January - June 2015 be sure to pop into the shop in the Rocks and check it out!
