This immersive, technique-led workshop offers a rare opportunity to learn Meredith’s signature sculptural embroidery & Shadow Mounting processes in a hands-on, supportive environment.
Working with a combination of woven and water-soluble fabrics, you’ll explore the unique methods Meredith uses to create her intricate, lace-like embroidered artworks. Through a series of guided exercises, you’ll develop a collection of experimental stitched surfaces and sculptural forms, building both confidence and technical skill.
Across the two days, Meredith will share her approach to design, composition, and material exploration, before guiding you through her signature shadow mounting technique - enabling you to professionally present your work.
Students will leave with a finished, framed artwork of their own design, along with a deeper understanding of how to translate ideas into sculptural embroidery.
This workshop is suitable for all levels. No prior experience is required, however a basic familiarity with sewing machine operation is recommended.
