This is a private page on my website where I will share updates and information about your commission as we go along. It saves clogging up your inbox with large image files etc.

To start I'll just quickly recap what we discussed during our meeting on Sunday and my understanding of the commission ideas so far:

Proposed artwork details:

3 x square artworks (individually framed), each featuring a circular coral inspired embroidery design.
Frame size 30 x 30cm each (final size to be confirmed after checking wall space)
Embroidery size - proposed approximately 18cm diameter
White box frame behind museum glass, no matt board.

Timeline: I would expect a timeline of around 3 months for a project like this. I note that you are in no rush and don’t have a firm deadline.

Possible designs (similar to what is pictured below):

Artwork 1: Coral desiogn
Artwork 2: Mushrom coral design
Artwork 3: Brain coral design (may change this one)

Initial proposed designs. Please note that these can all be changed if you prefer something else - I thought it would be helpful to see them next to each other.

Proposed size mock up

Below is a mock up of the 30 x 30cm size we discussed with a drawn circle to suggest the size of the embroidery. We can easily make the embroidery larger or smaller if you prefer.

30 x 30cm frame (measured from outer edges)
Frame molding is 2cm thick
Embroidery size - I suggest around 18cm in diameter for a frame this size

To get an idea of how the artworks would sit in your space, I suggest temporarily sticking some 30 x 30 cm squares of paper onto your wall in the position you plan to display the artworks. Please also feel free to send me an image of the wall (with measurements if possible) and I can make some size suggestions or just double check if I think the proposed size is the best fit for your space.

Colour Schemes

Requested blues and greens (which I love!)

Below are two suggestions for colour schemes that I know will blend well together. I have also attached a photo of the thread swatch colour card so you can see what colours are available.

Colour Scheme #1: Light cool green to cool greens and blue (Surf blue, Pro teal, Mineral green, Dynasty Green, Cabbage)

Colour Scheme #2: Warmer Greens to cool greens and blues (Jade green, Dynasty green, Bristle Green, North Sea, Pro teal, Peacock)

Shipping

Estimated Shipping quote (for packaging and shipping through my courier): $490.00AU This includes packing, shipping at insurance for loss and or damage in transit (with a $250AU excess).

Alternatively for artworks this size I can pack them myself and ship them using standard Australia Post (approximately $90.00AU using express post).

You also mentioned you may be able to assist with delivery from your end using your work contacts. Very happy to explore that option also.

It is likely that you will be required to complete a from providing things like a social security number prior to delivery to verify you are the receiver. This is organised by the courier company themselves and you will be notified if this is required.

Please note items delivered outside of Australia could be subject to import duties and taxes. These are charged at destination and are the responsibility of the individual receiving the goods. Generally original artwork are exempt from customs duties, but they have been known to charge in the past. Please contact your local customs office for further details before ordering if you are concerned.
