What is freehand machine embroidery?

What is Freehand machine embroidery? Blog Thumbnail.jpg

When people ask me what technique I use to create my artworks, the simple answer is ‘Freehand (or free motion) Machine Embroidery’. This wonderful technique is basically a way of drawing with your sewing machine. In theory it is a really simple process but it is so versatile and also somewhat addictive.

Over the last few months I have been developing an online course focused on the basics of this wonderful technique. The course is titled: Introduction to Freehand Machine Embroidery and it will show you everything you need to know and do to start drawing with your sewing machine. It will be a FREE course so that everyone can give this technique a go on their own sewing machines and see if they like it (and also if they like me as a teacher). I hope to launch the course in the next few weeks (fingers crossed).

If you want to be kept in the loop about the release of future online courses I have a special mailing list for that. You can sign up via the form on my courses page HERE.

Below is one of the videos in the course where I explain what Freehand machine Embroidery is.  I hope you enjoy this little taster of what is to come in the course.

UPDATE: My FREE online courser ‘Introduction to Freehand Machine Embroidery’ is now open for enrolments. You can access the course HERE.
